Taylor Thomas founded South Shore Capital Advisors in 2006. He is a veteran of Wall Street who spent 12 years working at Credit Suisse, and its predecessor firm Donaldson, Lufkin, & Jenrette, in Institutional Equities in New York. He advised hedge funds, insurance companies, investment advisors, and ultra high net worth families. He began his Wall Street career in 1994 as a Management Trainee at Salomon Brothers. At South Shore Capital he specializes in creating globally diversified portfolios of primarily individual securities that are customized to meet clients’ needs. He also sub-advises a portion of the Xantos Fund, a long/short hedge fund that has been in operation since 2003.
“The vision for South Shore Capital Advisors since its inception has been to stand apart from the competition by providing clients with direct personal relationships with portfolio managers who also possess technical expertise. Most clients come to us from competitors where they have had a relationship manager who was there to hold their hand rather than to help them understand the rationale behind their investments. Our approach has proven itself over and over again. From inception when we managed $5 million for a small number of clients we now manage over $200 million for more than 75 clients. We work only for fees, not commissions, and as Registered Investment Advisors we are duty bound to act as fiduciaries.”
Taylor has a M.B.A. from the Dartmouth College Amos Tuck School of Business Administration and a B.A. in History from Dartmouth College. He is also a Certified Financial Planner™.
